The time has come! Mons will be a European Capital of Culture in 2015
The selection panel for the European Capitals of Culture for 2015 recommended that Mons become one of the two cities to share this title, the European Commission indicated in a press release on Tuesday.
Formal designation by the European Council will occur in November 2010.
Mons was the only candidate city for this honour for Belgium, although its selection was not automatic; it had to meet criteria verified by an independent committee of 13 experts, including six appointed by Belgium and seven by the European authorities, the Commission noted.
The Franco Dragone Entertainment Group supports the “Mons 2015” project and will participate concretely in this beautiful adventure.
